Shining a Light at the BIPOC Games Conference

The BIPOC Games Conference brings together developers, scholars, and community leaders to explore the intersections of race, culture, and play. Hosted by the Black Games Studies Association, the conference serves as a hub for knowledge-sharing, creative collaboration, and academic insight into the lived experiences of Black, Indigenous, and other people of color in the gaming industry.

We’re proud to sponsor this year’s BIPOC Games Conference and stand alongside those expanding the narrative of who gets to make, and be seen in, games. Representation in gaming doesn’t just happen on-screen; it starts with who creates the stories, designs the systems, and builds the communities that define this space.

Supporting this conference aligns directly with Shine A Light on Gaming’s mission to reduce hate and toxicity across gaming by amplifying underrepresented voices and investing in creators who bring empathy, inclusivity, and authenticity to their work. We believe that when more people see themselves in the worlds they play, the industry becomes richer and safer for everyone.
